Last year I delved into a creative side of me I hadn’t explored before. The theme was the Southwest, and I created the Southwestern Trails Jewelry Collection, a mix of turquoise elements, designs intended to pull from Native American artwork and customs, and the colors of the American southwest.
Truthfully, southwestern culture isn’t my favorite thing, so I had assumed that I scratched the southwestern inspired jewelry collection itch and would move on. Imagine my shock when this year I felt the same inspiration come up again. While I may have wanted to resist the creative spark, the truth is that the Southwestern Trails collection sold well so I gladly delved into my creative side for a second iteration of this theme.
This year for the southwestern inspired jewelry collection I incorporated more leather elements.I also brought back an early design of mine, one that involves leather straps to tie a necklace together, foregoing a clasp entirely. I’m pleased with this collection that has a mix of gemstones, metal elements, feather accents and patina beads adding color, metal types, and different textures together.
I’m completely surprised and thrilled with the resulting southwestern inspired jewelry designs I created. These accessories are live in my online shop; snag your favorite accessory today before it’s gone!
