I love making resin photo jewelry because it is always so meaningful to both the person I work with and the person who receives the final jewelry design. If you are anything like me, finding something special for your mother is hard to do. Over the years it gets difficult to find something that is meaningful. This year, why not make a photo collage bracelet for your mom.
I love working with resin because it gives me the ability to create something completely unique. Because the medium starts as a liquid, it means that you can incorporate any mixed media elements that you want. Most of the time too many options overwhelms me, but when I get a clear idea I love the options that resin affords.
The idea of capturing pictures in resin to make resin photo jewelry seemed to me to be the ideal way to take something as fleeting as a moment and make it last forever. So when I’m working with friends to design a unique and meaningful gift, or even custom wedding jewelry, I often recommend using resin.
I’m certainly not claiming this is the most challenging technique that I work with. Nor am I claiming that the designs I am making here are the most unique. But taken in another light, they are truly unique with those special moments, and definitely meaningful to those who give, and receive, these jewelry designs as gifts.
This year, I have the pleasure of working with several friends to design bracelets. One friend selected images of herself and three siblings that resulted in me learning how to use the scanner at Walgreens and shrink the images down to fit in the tiny bezels. Another selected images of the two daughters to be featured in the bezels.
Making these heartfelt and custom gifts always give me such joy and a tremendous feeling of honor. Something so meaningful should be made with true care and that’s not something I take lightly.
If you’re looking for a custom gift to give your mother, whether it’s for Mother’s Day, her birthday, or another gift-giving holiday, a custom resin bracelet or necklace is the perfect meaningful gift. I’d be honored to help you create such a gift. Leave me a comment below if you’d like learn more.
