In October, artists can choose to participate in the Inktober challenge. I wanted to stretch some of my creativity and design skills, so I did participate in the Inktober 2019 prompts. During the month I created 31 sketches, several of them using gemstones I’ve had in my stash for years that have been waiting to be used.

From my sketches, there were several that I wanted to bring to life. Every year I find renewed inspiration and additional time to craft jewelry in January. This year, I decided to get started with those designs that filled my sketchbook pages.

Returning to metalsmithing, something I haven’t done since I created a ring as part of my Tranquile Waters summer jewelry collection, was wonderful. Metals jewelry takes time to craft, but I found that I had a really good rhythm each time I visited my studio and got started. Each item came together much faster than I anticipated. For this reason, I prioritized these metal pieces and decided they would make up my first collection of 2020.

This is my first collection that only features silversmith items. Unlike other collections, it doesn’t have a central color or stone, making it a bit less cohesive. But all these items have one commonality: they were conceived as I sketched for the Inktober challenge.

Unlike my past collections, these will not be available in my Etsy shop. If you are interested in adding one of these to your collection, please contact me directly through my email, or through the contact form below. I’ve included important sizing and pricing information with each image below and would be happy to send additional photos if you’d like.

As always, thank you for supporting my small business. I have big plans to release even more metal jewelry this year, so let me know if you have any requests or suggestions below in the comments.
