As we welcome the new year it’s time to welcome the new Pantone Color of the year for 2024. This year the selection was Peach Fuzz, a fun light pink with a yellow undertone.
More about the 2024 Pantone Color of the Year: Peach Fuzz
According to Pantone and the folks who work to choose these colors, “capture our desire to nurture ourselves and others.” Peach Fuzz is “a velvety gentile peach tone whos all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” This color is all about embracing coziness, togetherness, and the warm feelings these two activities inspire.
Color palettes with Peach Fuzz
In addition to releasing the color of the year, there are also inspirational color palettes that Pantone releases using the color of the year. First, there is the different color trends for spring and fall. There are other beautiful palettes that include Peach Fuzz and other Pantone hues. One palette is the libations color palette, which was featured with matching gemstones by one of my favorite gemstone vendors. I love how well all these warmer hues blend together into a romantic and inspiring blend.
Using Peach Fuzz in jewelry making
Now that we understand the thought behind the color how do I plan to incorporate it into my jewelry making? This is always a question I like to ponder.
I received a newsletter from one of my gemstone vendors that paired the Peach Fuzz color to peach moonstone. What a perfect and fun pairing for beautiful spring and summer jewelry designs. With so many beautiful hues, peach moonstone is a great way to celebrate this vibrant color.
For me, this color reminded me of the 2019 Pantone Color: Living Coral. They feel similar, although Peach Fuzz definitely has more yellow tones in it. How much fun would it be to combine these two amazing colors together into lovely pink jewelry designs? I think that may be something I’ll have to try this year.
As seen with the color palettes, this would work well as a pop of color for cooler hues or blend perfectly with warmer tones. I can also see this pairing well with brown leather or coppers in the fall.
Peach Fuzz in 2024
Peach Fuzz offers so many different design opportunities for jewelry, fashion, and interior design. The joyful personality of the hue reflects the optimism we can all hope for with a new year and a fresh start.
